Have you ever heard a fashion rule that says that you should not wear two bold prints together? Well, I am here to tell you that some rules are just meant to be broken.
One of my fave things to do is mixing two different prints together. Although print is naturally very busy on its own, there are some strategic ways to wear them so that you won't end up looking like a mess.
1. One Dominant Print
When working with bold prints. Make sure that one of them is bolder or bigger.
Here, my floral button up is so much bolder and bigger in pattern as compared to my stripe dress. Although each of them are very busy on its own, they compliment each other when worn together.
The same concept works when wearing stipes on stripes. The stripe on my skirt is so much bigger. It instantly draws the eyes' attention; tying the outfit together.
2. The Monochromatic
Another way of wearing two bold prins together is to match the color family.
Here, I paired my super busy abstrack print dress with a plaid button up. Since the two pieces have the same color mix, the outfit kinda works.
So I hope this inspires you to mix and match your outfit and just to have fun with it. Remember, just own and wear your outfit with confidence and when all else fails, just smile.
Cheers,
Esther
