What to wear for wedding

Hi everyone,

I have recently been invited to a couple of weddings and being new to this kind of event, I definitely am pretty clueless about what to wear to a wedding. So, I have done a lot of research on what to wear for a wedding and I compiled a couple of outfit ideas to wear to a wedding so you girls no longer going to be confused.

Now, there are many types of wedding nowadays from very traditional to modern. In today's context, however, I think traditional weddings are becoming less and less popular. My family and I have not been invited to one in the past five years. Therefore, if you are invited to one, lucky you!

The most common wedding types that I have been invited to is the modern wedding which normally is held either at restaurants, hotel ballroom or cafes. When trying to dress up for a wedding, we should remember that the bride should be the center of attention at this event and we never want to overpower her. That being said, I always say to avoid wearing white dress unless the bride herself tells you explicitly that it is okay.

However, if you are unsure, I would say to opt for a soft pastel color palette instead. It still gives off a feminine and clean look without being mistaken as the bride

1. Pastel Color and Fitted Silhouette

Pastel dress is good to wear for a wedding as it is romantic, feminine and soft
The classic silhouette is also perfect for any formal event
Dress : Shein

Bold jewelry will balance off the ultra feminine feel of the dress, giving it more interesting vibe

Dangling, sparkling earring will ties in the whole look as it gives formal event feel to the entire outfit

2. Lace Dress
Another great option is to wear lace dress. This particular dress has an A-line silhouette which is a great option as you can eat as much as you want without worrying of being bloated at the end of the night. Lace is also a great ways to wear a black dress as it gives off softer look than just wearing an all black dress.

Dress: Love Bonito

3. Floral Dress
You guessed it! Gotta have a floral dress in the mix!
Floral is a pattern that is so perfect to wear for a wedding. It is the absolute romantic print. There are so many different types of floral dress nowadays and I would recommend that you choose a more formal fabric as as silk, cashmere or neoprene.

Dress: Shein

My particular dress has a high low hem which makes this dress ultra cute and dramatic. I think that floral dress is also perfect for a garden wedding.

4. Beach Wedding Attire: Maxi Dress
If you are going to a beach wedding, the same rules apply. However, it is normally pretty breezy at the beach, so I would highly recommend wearing a maxi dress or maxi skirt to avoid the Marilyn Monroe moment.

Dress: The Tinsel Rack

Also, I would say to wear a wedges and not a stiletto to avoid getting your heels stucked when walking in the sand. With these, you are pretty much set to have fun and dance the night away at your friends' wedding.

5. Two pieces
Lastly, you don't actually have to wear a dress for a wedding. You could also wear pieces that you already had in your closet. As long as the color and fitting of your outfit are appropriate for your wedding, go for it!
Here, I styled a peachy off the shoulder pleated top from MDS Collection with a pastel blue midi skirt. When in doubt, wear a classic silhouette with a pastel color to a wedding, I guarantee that it will work :)

You always have to choose what fits you best and remember, wedding is always a time for us to celebrate the beautiful couple walks down the aisle. So have fun, make lots of memories and smile.
